    • If you want to mimic what this setting change for translate5 default IDML setting does, you need to empty the field "Protect listed whitespace characters" in the IDML filter settings of your customized file format conversion settings.
    • If this field is not empty, all special whitespacse characters from Indesign are normal tags in translate5, because Okapi then protects them as such. To enable translate5 to treat them as special whitespace, this setting must be empty.

      Problem

If the field in the screenshot in IDML settings is not empty, special whitespace characters in translate5 are protected as normal tags in translate5 by Okapi.

Yet they should be send as whitespace to translate5, so that translate5 can  apply the specific whitespace handling it usually does.

In translate5's default settings this field is NOT empty. Yet should be.

      Solution

Change the content of the field for translate5 default bconf, so that it is empty.
