      Problem

      • for single-segment translation user gets a list with results from all their available resources, eg TermCollection. TM 1, TM 2, MT 1, MT 2, LLM A, LLM B AND evenfuzzy match results from their TMs
      • for multi-segment translations, they will get a whole text and each segment colour-coded (plus tooltip information for the source) by the used source, e.g. sentence 1 found in TernCollection, sentence 2 from LLM A, sentence 3 from TM 1 etc.

This is irritating for users that the variations fr 1 segment are so many but for multi-segments all the variation gets lost.

This needs to be combined with the alternative translations requests from LLMs, if configured for usage for current user. Both for full sentence alternatives and for word alternatives.

      Solution

On click on word / sentence a drop-down pops up.

      1) If no re-phrase translations are configured for current user:

      • Show in a dropdown per segment the whole result list as if user would have queried the segments one by one.
        • E.g. user is not satisfied with sentence 3, clicks on it and gets the full list in a table-like manner.
        • Right column of the table shows the language resource info, like we show it usually in the tooltip so far.
        • Rows are colored in the color of the language resource.
        • Example:
          • no hit from TermCollection
          • hit from TM 1 is already in use (therefore not shown)
          • hits from TM 2
          • MT 1
          • MT 2
          • LLM A
          • LLM B
          • plus eventual fuzzies from the TMs; Fuzzies are marked identical to fuzzies for singel segment translations in text field).
        • Values in dropdown can be selected and will replace the former segment content.

Show alternative config: If this is offered to the user or not (if re-phrasing is not configured) is decided by a client-overwritable config.

      2) If re-phrase translations are configured for current user:

      • Add re-phrase sentences from the LLMs that are configured for re-phrase translations
      • Add 2 more columns to the table, that show alternative translations for the word, the user clicked on and its language resource source. Also highlighted in the color of the language resource.  Use DeepL UI as inspiration, but make proposals, how UI would look like/work for best usability.
      • Try to put alternatives for words in the same row as alternatives for sentences, that are coming from the same language resource

Show alternative config: It also takes effect as above. So if configured as "off", also if re-phrasing translations are configured, still alternative translations are not shown.

      3) If alternative translations are configured for the user AND the user selects a range of characters

Use the same layout as in 1), but only show alternative translations, that change only the part of the segment, that is selected. Or of multiple segments, if multiple are selected.

Explain the behavior in an info message below the target text field, that shows up, when user clicks into it.

Implement exactly the same behavior for segment editor in segment grid, with exception of multi-segment handling.
