Problem
For non-professional reviewers the UI of simple view in translate5 is still to complex. Especially there are columns, that they do not need. They do not need the match panel. The icon of the translation status of the processing status column is not intuitive (it looks like there is still something to do, because it is an empty sheet, but in fact it signals, that translation/post-editing is done). And some of the icons in the navigation look old/ugly.
Solution
New "Very simple view"
Analogous to the simple view and the normal view and the detailed view a 4th translate5 default mode is introduced and named "Very simple view".
It can be set as default view for new users in the system settings analogous to the current 3 existing views.
By default the "very simple view" looks like the "simple view" with the following differences:
- match panel is by default not visible (so not only collapsed, but absent)
- match rate and match rate type columns are hidden (so can be shown, but hidden by default)
- new simple filter bar is NOT shown
- a search icon is added to the existing icons on the right side, that opens the search window
- Change the icons that do not so far have the modern grey style (so that are colored) to modern looking icons in the style of the other more modern looking icons.
- Change the color of the text of tags to a grey, that is still readable but differentiates enough from the text color to make it clear, this is not editable text.
Changes to "Simple view"
The above changes for "very simple view" 4. and 5. and 6. (search icon and exchange of icons) are also done for "Simple view".
Changes to process status icon for "Translation" status
The icon for the translation process status should be changed from an empty page to an empty page with small green check-mark on it.
