Problem

When a user attempts to set status open to unconfirmed job in competitive task, the system acquires a task lock before performing update. But in process of update we also trigger workflow actions, one of them is responsible for removing of competitors.

In this action system also tries to acquire lock while previous lock not released yet. As a result, the system awaits for lock in never ending loop and process hangs while task remains locked preventing other users and system processes from making modifications to the task until the lock expires or the process dies.

Solution

Release lock before calling workflow actions.
