Currently creating segment comments is changing the segment processing state (auto-state) which is wrong for segments with state "pretranslated".

solution

Saving a comment and saving an edited segment should be considered as two separate processes, so adding a comment should make no influence on the segment auto state. So the segment stays pre-translated or not.
To keep the status quo, we should introduce a checkbox on saving a comment, which enables the user the possibility to save the comment and say "mark the segment as reviewed/translated on saving the comment"
- Yet we should set this new handling (no autostatus change on comment saving) as default and communicate this as an important backwards incompatible change, that admins can change in their config to achieve the old behavior.
